10 Questions to Ask Your Google AdWords Consultant

  1. What is included in my Google AdWords campaign?

Before you sign up with a Google AdWords consultant, make sure you understand everything included in your campaign.

Will the company set up your account and manage it? Will the company conduct keyword research? Is there a minimum contract length?

Artonic charges a onetime setup fee per campaign, and a monthly fee for ongoing management and reporting. We’ll give you a monthly report with easy-to-read metrics that make sense.

Our PPC account managers will conduct on-going keyword research and ad testing to ensure the best ROI for your PPC dollars. Your account manager can discuss exact rates and contract lengths with you.

  1. Who will manage my account?

Ask if your account management will be outsourced or handled in-house, and whether you can speak to this person or not.

Artonic handles PPC management in-house by experienced PPC account managers. You can come to our office and meet your account manager, or communicate by phone, email, or even video conference.

  1. What is your communication process like?

How often will you hear from your Google AdWords consultant? Will they call or email, and how often? These are important parameters to establish before your campaign launches.

When you work with Artonic, you receive a response to your call or email within 24 hours. We value client relationships and we’ll ask you how you would like us to communicate with you and how often.

  1. What will be the first step when taking over / creating an account?

Your personal Artonic PPC account manager will sit down with you to find out all about your business and your goals for your PPC campaign.  When taking over an existing account, we immediately check settings to ensure money is not being spent needlessly. Every aspect of your campaign is examined, from keywords to ad text, to ensure your PPC dollars are spent wisely.

  1. How often will I receive a report? In what format?

Artonic provides our clients an easy-to-read PDF report once a month.

In this report we’ll show you data for each Campaign, Ad Group, Ad, and Keywords. We’ll track your impressions and click-through-rates (CTR) over time, so you can see improvement as your campaign runs. Everyone loves charts, and we plenty of them so you can get a picture of your campaign in a glance.

  1. How do you measure success?

Success should be measured by click-through-rate (CTR) and conversions. A conversion can be many things, such as a completed form, a download, or a sale. This is something to define with your Google AdWords consultant at the beginning of your campaign. To track conversions, a tracking mechanism needs to be set up.

Your account manager at Artonic works with you to determine what metrics to measure. We’ll incorporate the tracking code into your website as part of the setup process.

  1. How do you calculate the price for the campaign?

PPC companies do not charge the campaign price in the same manner. Some companies may ask for a fixed rate and some may charge a percentage of your monthly expenditure. Ensure you understand the charges, what percentage of your expenditures goes toward the ads and what percentage goes toward the agency fee.

Artonic charges a flat agency fee for managing your account based on your goals. Also, Artonic will work with you to establish an appropriate cap on monthly ad spend (the maximum amount paid directly to Google, Bing, or Facebook).

  1. What is your bidding and budget strategy?

Just like everything else at Artonic, your PPC campaign is completely customized and is based on your goals and budget. Our goal is to reduce your cost-per-lead but at the same time increase the number of leads you receive.  The click-through-rate (CTR) is one metric we monitor closely to gauge our success.

  1. How do you conduct keyword research?

We use several keyword research tools build specifically for agencies like Artonic to find relevant, high-traffic keywords or variations of existing keywords. We also use your Google Analytics data to find new keywords and negative keywords to ensure we only drive qualified traffic to your website.

  1. Can you provide examples of your track record?

Artonic has a list of satisfied PPC clients, and we’re more than happy to show you case studies of our successes.  Your account manager will provide these to you upon request.
